Powerful graphic novel about before and after Katrina in New Orleans...
This 2009 graphic novel from Josh Neufeld follows a bunch of people just before, during and up to 3 years after Katrina hurricane devastated New Orleans. The pictures are quite powerful, and the narrative tone terribly moving...
It reminds me of course of both Gaudé's "Ouragan" novel and Stanley Greene's "Katrina: An unnatural disaster" photobook.
I am indeed particularly sensitive to Katrina stories, since I have the distinct feeling that it never occurred before, in a modern Western country, to "officially" consider the poor and the have-not as mere liabilities when facing a natural disaster...
This graphic novel deserves our attention and thinking...
