Chronologie Resident Evil
Petite liste annotée pour y voir plus clair dans la chronologie de la série principale Resident Evil (Biohazard au Japon).
Parce que ça me fait plaisir, j'indique aussi la liste des personnages principaux de chaque opus, pour la plupart du temps regroupés en un ou plusieurs binômes.
On peut diviser la série en trois périodes bien distinctes :
○ L'ère classique (RE-RE2-RE3-RECV-RE0) centrée sur les événements survenus en 1998 dans la ville fictive de Raccoon City, point de départ de la série. Tous les jeux sont de type survival-horror en vue caméra fixe et font la part belle aux puzzles.
○ L'ère moderne (RE4-RE5-RER-RE6-RER2) traitant des méfaits de la société Umbrella Corporation aux quatre coins du monde. Avec sa vue "caméra à l'épaule" introduite par RE4, la série est beaucoup plus orientée action et la coop devient un élément central à partir de RE5.
○ La nouvelle ère (RE7-RE8-RE9) pour l'instant peu reliée aux événements des précédents jeux. La série opère ici un retour au survival-horror tout en modernisant sa formule grâce à une vue à la première personne inspirée des récentes productions indépendantes.
