S2018 E1 • Jonestown: The Women Behind the Massacre

The powerful two-hour special “Jonestown: The Women Behind The Massacre,” focuses on four women in Jim Jones’ inner circle who helped plan the 1978 Jonestown Massacre, one of the largest murder-suicide events in modern history which left 918 men, women and children dead. The special will explore the influence that Jones’ wife Marceline Jones and mistresses Carolyn Layton, Maria Katsaris and Annie Moore had on The People’s Temple and its tragic end. Drawing on exclusive interviews with Jonestown survivors and family members, including Jones’ biological son, as well as never-before-seen archival footage, photos, audio recordings, and the women’s personal letters, the documentary gives an intimate look into their roles within the church from its earliest days in Indiana to its expansion into northern California and finally its disastrous end in the secluded jungle of Guyana.

Zachary Quinto explores the unpredictable and terrifying phenomenon of Sinkholes to determine just what causes them. He visits a Florida man whose brother was killed when their family home was literally swallowed whole by the Earth as well as a series of sinkholes that are forming a series of caves right below the houses of a quaint suburban neighborhood. Whether they be a part of some biblical prophecy or further evidence of mankind’s effect on our planet, he’s alarmed to discover that all the same, they can strike anywhere in the world, at any time.

S2018 E7 • In Search Of: Time Travel

Zach charts a journey to determine whether time travel is possible. He meets a man who claims to have traveled back in time due to a secret government program and a group of people living in Liverpool known as “time slippers.” Zach then makes an visit to the CERN headquarters in Geneva, where he attempts to understand the origins of the universe and the dimension of time. Equipped with this new knowledge, Zach tests his own perception of time with an elaborate skydiving experiment to see if he can slow down time itself.
