S5 E1 • The Hauraki Gulf

Surrounded by workups in the Hauraki Gulf, Milan and Nathan have a ball catching snappers on light gear followed by some stickbait action. Milan and Nathan are joining the annual snapper migration into the Hauraki Gulf. This happens every year in springtime and the snapper are everywhere. It is not a Big Angry Fish day out on the water without heaving in a couple of really big fish, so Milan and Nathan find some big hungry kingfish lurking around as well.

S5 E2 • Tuhua Reef

Milan and Nathan are battling the dangerous waves at Tuhua reef and some big fish that are hanging around at the structures. The famous Tuhua reef is known for both its big fish, but also its dangerous waves. Milan and Nathan gets to battle both as they sneak in close of this incredible reef structure. The new Season 5 graphics shows what the reef looks like, and how to fish the structure. Some battles are won and some are lost, but that’s what the boys like, pushing themselves to the limit!

S5 E3 • Aotea Solo

Rumour has it that Aotea Harbour holds some massive kingfish in the strong currents. Alone in the boat, Milan sets out to meet the Legend. Milan is left to his own devices for the day’s fishing in Aotea Harbour. He has long dreamed of actually hooking one the massive kingfish that is supposed to live around there. Being alone in the boat doesn’t stop a hard working angler, and Milan surely gets his hands full when the legend of Aotea Harbour shows up.

S5 E4 • Mangroves

Milan and Nathan explore what’s hiding in the mangroves in just a meter of water. It’s big and it’s red! Milan and Nathan find the best snapper fishing they have ever seen, and all in a meter of water up in the mangroves. Big snapper one after the other jump on their hooks and things are almost to good to be true. This days fishing truly has changed the views on where snapper feed and live.

S5 E5 • Tauranga Harbour

5 mins from Tauranga boat ramp and Milan and Nathan are hooked up on something big and angry. Later, it’s shark fishing 1on1. Milan and Nathan are back in the Tauranga Harbour. This huge estuary always serves up big fish and today is no different. Nathan has his hands full with a big and angry kingfish, but something even bigger catches the interest of Milan and Nathan’s trained eyes.

S5 E6 • Flyfishing

Milan and Nathan are on fly fishing adventure in the shallow of the harbour, seeing what’s hiding on the eel grass flats. Milan is super keen to nail a snapper on his flyrod and even if the weather looks rather challenging he convinces Nathan to give it a go. Catching snapper on fly is no easy task, but once the boys find the fish, it’s action all around.

S5 E7 • Karikari Peninsula

Milan and Nathan are fishing new territory around the Karikari Peninsula, and it all turns into a bit of a competition. Milan and Nathan are having a great day hanging out and fishing new territory around the Karikari Peninsula. Wherever they go, they find fish and the day culminates in trophy snapper coming over the side and it all turns into a bit of a competition.

S5 E8 • Kawhia Harbour

Milan and Nathan head over to Kawhia Harbour on the hunt for a kingfish legend of the West Coast. It turns out to be a humbling journey for all parties involved. Rumour has it that Kawhia Harbour holds big and smart kingfish, so Milan and Nathan head over to the West Coast to see if there is any truth to the stories. It looks good as kingfish turns up for a free feed, but the legendary big ones are keeping to themselves. Milan and Nathan eventually find the kingies’ hideout but what unfolds is some of the most humiliating events that Milan and Nathan has ever encountered.

S5 E9 • Snapper in the harbour

It’s shallow water snapper season, and Milan and Nathan are exploring new fishing spots, hoping to find the red gold. It’s summertime and the snapper fishing is red hot. So hot, that Milan and Nathan are on the lookout for new fishing spots. Fishing turns out to be nothing but outstanding as snapper in big numbers are in the harbour for one thing only, and that’s to feed up hard.

S5 E10 • Coromandel Kings

Milan and Nathan are back on their home turf in Coromandel. This is where their fishing careers started, but it’s been a while since they have been back. It turns out fishing is better than ever and no matter where they go, big fish turn up at the back of the boat for a look.

S5 E11 • Game Fishing

Nathan has got the game fishing bug but Milan prefers going back to basic. The team splits up for the day with Nathan going wide with Glenn on the hunt for a striped marlin, and Milan paddles out in Coromadel/ Hauraki Gulf to go landbased fishing. So who will catch the big one of the day? Only time will tell and it’s a close race as both of them hook up to monster fish throughout the day.

S5 E12 • Kayak Fishing

The annual kayak fishing expedition takes place in Aotea Harbour, a small West Coast harbour. The place looks void of life, but only until the boys find themselves at the right place at the right time. Soon it’s all action stations as big fish move in to play.

S5 E13 • Great Barrier Island

We had waited and waited for a weather window and the availability of the popular Savoy vessel, and finally all planets lined up perfectly. The plans were made and we were ready to go. This is pretty much when Milan chucked a garden fork through his foot, full steam! No fancy fishing moves for this fella now... Milan’s injured foot keeps him on board the Savoy luxury yacht while Nathan jumps in the kayak to go snapper hunting along the Great Barrier shores.
