We spend some time conquering a zombie spawner and building a very simple automatic harvester around it. The killing mechanism works by drowning the zombies. This makes it 100% efficient because it also kills the zombies as quickly as they spawn.

I show off the start of my new hostile mob system. The aim is to make it super efficient so that only about 12 spawning pads will be needed total. If I understand things correctly, this 12 spawning pad system will actually be more efficient than if I was to make it 17x17 spawning pads (289).
