It's a crucial few days for Wales, who harbour strong hopes of reaching a first major finals since 1958 - Chris Coleman's side met Cyprus on Thursday, and on Sunday they face Israel. Northern Ireland have also exceeded expectations in qualifying so far, and would do their chances of reaching France next year a power of good with wins over the Faroe Islands and Hungary. England put their 100 per cent record on the line against San Marino and Switzerland, while Scotland and the Republic of Ireland also both play twice over the international window, fixtures which include the Scots hosting Germany on Monday.

It's always one of the most exciting days of the season as clubs frantically try to strengthen their squads ahead of the run-in. In January 2015, there was the usual mixed bag of successful signings and big-money flops made by Premier League clubs. Chelsea spent £23.3m on Juan Cuadrado, but he made just four starts before leaving to join Juventus on loan in the summer. However, Tottenham signed Dele Alli from MK Dons for an initial £5m and the teenager has been a revelation this season.
