Halfway through the second term, an unannounced visit from JP's older brother Tomothy makes the Hartnell Avenue residents realise how close to the end of the year and their university lives they really are. Howard has created a secret revision den in the cellar, but as a series of texts from Candice could upend his plans, it falls on Josie to educate him about the difference between what people say and what they actually mean. Meanwhile panicked Student Union President Oregon seeks the counsel of her support officer Rosa as she attempts to win a prestigious scholarship in the US, but will her self-penned motivational book be the answer? Vod comes up with a scheme to help with her money troubles, and Kingsley is on the lookout for love, but possibly in all the wrong places. But before the housemates knuckle down to some hard-core studying, JP has plans for one last big blow out.

S4 E2 • Episode 2
As the housemates face difficult questions about life after university, Vod thinks a new job in a pub is the answer to her money worries, but she didn't plan for her housemates becoming regulars tapping her up for free drinks; especially heartbroken Howard, who seems to have developed a slight drinking problem since his break-up with Candice. President Oregon, looking at cementing her legacy, makes the rash decision to set up a poetry competition in her name, but when word gets out that she's cutting sports funding in order to do so the student body aren't impressed. Josie is on the hunt for some new housemates, but none of the hopeful candidates are up to her exacting tea-making standards, and there's a bump in Kingsley's blossoming relationship with Rosa when she drops the bombshell that she has a son. And he's how old?

S4 E3 • Episode 3
The newly non-funded wheelchair rugby team protests against Oregon's presidency, Josie is having an identity crisis and takes the drastic measure of rebranding herself, and Vod decides to retreat to an anarchist commune, with the other two girls tagging along. The boys head to London, where Kingsley feels positive about a potential post at a radio station, JP visits his brother's firm to 'collect his job' and Howard tries to familiarise himself with the city before he goes for his interview at the Ordnance Survey.

S4 E4 • Episode 4
Oregon's glittering future looks seriously under threat when societies that have had their funding cut table a motion to have her thrown out of office, and Howard has his work cut out trying to make his CV stand out. Tomothy goes to drastic lengths in his attempts to force JP to toe the line, Kingsley and Vod take control of the graduation ball, but it seems a disastrous haircut and a misjudged musical number could be the final nail in the coffin of Oregon's reign.

JP hires a revision barge and persuades Howard to join him aboard, Kingsley's relationship begins to disintegrate leaving him a physical wreck and Oregon has serious cramming to do if she is to qualify for a prestigious American scholarship in the US. Tickets for the alternative graduation ball Vodstock are selling very well, but Vod gets on the wrong side of hired security for the event and the housemates end up having to barricade themselves in the cellar.

In the last-ever episode of the comedy, the housemates' finals are over and most of them are enjoying their freedom as they wait to find out how they have fared - but not everyone is happy with the results. There are revelations galore on graduation day, but will they be hosting the ultimate alternative ball or will they have to flee Manchester under cover of darkness? Luckily, Vod has an idea on how to have the best party ever.
