S2013 E1 • Johnny vs. Sonic The Hedgehog (2006)

This is it, folks. The end of the Sonic Marathon has arrived, and yeowzas, it's the longest review of them all! Seriously, I don't think I'll ever make a review as long as this one ever again, but a lot needs to be said about this particular game. I've visited this game many times before. I wasn't exactly satisfied with the first review I made years ago. Since then, I've done a commentary, and I even did a full Let's Play of the game. Thoughts and perspectives have changed. But what exactly? Is this truly the worst of the worst? Are there any bright spots in this infamous title? Join me as I end the Sonic Marathon with SONIC THE HEDGEHOG (2006) for the Xbox 360.

S2013 E2 • Johnny vs. The Legend of Zelda

Lots of you asked, so here we go. The time to start reviewing some Zelda games has finally come, and we're starting with the first game in the series; it's the Zelda Marathon, folks. This particular game is well over 25 years old, but it is responsible for setting quite the benchmark during the NES days. Does that necessarily mean it's still a good game today? That's what we're gonna find out today.

S2013 E3 • Johnny vs. Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

I've dreaded this day for sometime now. I'm well familiar with this game, but it wasn't until this review where I attempted to fully complete it. It's time to review the direct sequel to the first Legend of Zelda title, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Is it really as hard as people say it is? Does it deserve it's status as the black sheep in the franchise? Only one way to find out, so let's watch and see.

S2013 E4 • Johnny vs. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Time to journey back to the Super Nintendo with the next game in the Zelda Marathon. A Link to the Past, similar to games like Super Mario World, introduced more than just a graphical update. It's considered to be one of the best Zelda games in the franchise, and whether or not that still holds up today is what we're going to find out. Time hasn't been too kind to Zelda 1 or Zelda 2, but will things look up from here on?

I stated at the beginning of the Marathon that I wouldn't tackle any handheld games in the series for now, but a lot of you wanted me to look at Link's Awakening before heading towards Ocarina of Time. I didn't see many likes, but I did see a lot of repetition, and Super Meat Boy was among the most requested for the next Indie review. S2013 E24 • Johnny vs. Sonic Lost World (Wii U & 3DS)

Here it is, the review of the latest game in the Sonic franchise. Sonic Lost World takes the Hedgehog through over 7 different worlds, battles against the Deadly Six, and also takes things back to a simpler time in terms of high-speed platforming. The boost formula is gone. The Wisps are back. However, does this change end up working out in the end, or was it a bad idea to shake things up at this point?

S2013 E26 • Johnny vs. Batman: Arkham Origins & Blackgate

There's just something about Christmas that doesn't sit well with Gotham City. If it's not some deformed human being trying to eliminate all of the first born children in Gotham, it's some shrewd businessman trying to suck up all of the city's electrical power. And then there's the Black Mask, who has placed a $50 Million Dollar Bounty on the Dark Knight, and the dude just started his career as the Batman. This Holiday is cursed. But is the game any good? We're going to find out now, plus we're also gonna look at the handheld tie-in; Arkham Origins: Blackgate for the Nintendo 3DS.
