S6 E1 • Switzerland & Italy: Bern - Thun - Spiez - Frutigen - Kandersteg - Goppenstein - Brig - Iselle - Domodossola

This railway track can be described as the connection between two countries with the character of a rural railway. From Kempten in the Allgau we travel with the Ausserfernbahn, passed Reutte to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. From there we take the Karwendelbahn to Innsbruck. It goes from the base all the way to the top of the Alps, with as extra treat a journey by rail to the highest mountain in Germany, the Zugspitze.

From the capital of the fjords we head into the mountains. So from Bergen on the green coast to half a metre of snow and beautiful views. To finish we take a trip on the Flambana back to the sea.

A bergbahn in the hills of southern Germany, that is how this railway through the Black Forest is described. Eventhough the mountain peaks are not that high, the journey from Offenburg to Konstanz on the Bodensee is surprising due to the great variety in scenery that the trains winds its way through.

S6 E6 • Switzerland: Brig - Visp - Zermatt - Gornergrat

In Basque country, between two major cities there is a small narrow gauge railway. A ride with this railway gives a good impression of this beautiful, not welknown part of Spain. In this episode we travel up to Durango and we take a heritage steam train that brings back memories of the early narrow gauge railway.

S6 E7 • United States: Skagway - Fraser - Lake Bennett

From Durango to Bilbao, using the oldes narrow gauge railway in this part of Spain. We get to see more of Basque country from the train to Bermeo on the coast. We get nostalgic when we take a heritage steam train.

S6 E8 • Switzerland: Montreux - Gstaad - Zweisimmen & Montreux - Glion - Rochers-de-Naye

The country with the largest rail network in the world. We take a trip on one of the most famous narrow gauge railways in India, from Kalka in the plains to Simla in the Himalaya. For the past one hundres years these railway tracks have been intesively used and it keeps surprising it's travellers with ever changing panoramic views.

A train journey in the beautiful Riviera between Nice in France and the Italian Ventimiglia. From there we cross some impressive viaducts through the valley of the river Roya and cross the Coll de Tenda towarads Cuneo. This railway line has a politicaly bad history, that was actually not used very much due to various reasons.

We take the new Portugese highspeed line from the ancient heart of Lisbon, along modern constructions of the World Exhibition and the river Tage to Coimbra. As big contrast to the highspeed line we continue our journey to Figuera da Foz on the coast using a little local line.

We take a trip on the Voralpen Express between two of the biggest lakes in Switzerland, the Lake of Lucerne and the Bodensee. We travel through tunnels and over viaducts to the beautiful orchards in the north of the country.

'Le Petiti Train jeune'. From the fortified town of Villefranche de Conflent at the base of the Pyrenees, a little yellow train winds its way along a wobbly narrow gauge track. Through enormous tunnels and over huge viaducts the little trains bounces along to the dizzy heights in the sunshine of La Tour de Carol.
