A truly unique privacy wall made from vintage doors anchors the yard, connecting to the dining area with a custom Murphy bed table that folds down to reveal a hand painted Japanese art piece. A raised fireplace, cooking station faced in reclaimed wood and lush landscaping round out this stunning space.
S3 E2 • Napa Style Backyard Retreat
Fine living is on tap in this sumptuous backyard that's all about relaxing gatherings for friends and family. Jake and Joel pay homage to the upscale Napa Valley with a metal sculpted water feature with oversized steel grape leaves and wine bottle spouts, a granite-topped bar skinned in wine boxes flanked by a kegerator fashioned from a wine barrel, a gabled overhead shade structure and a wood-fired hot tub looking down on a cozy sunken seating area.

S3 E3 • Artsy English Pub
Jake and Joel Moss turn a blank slate yard into an artsy pub inspired by the homeowners' love for beer and giraffe art. The existing garden is expanded and terraced up the slope, and a concrete patio creates entertaining space with colorful groundcover softening the look. Privacy walls bring in shade and a modern wood slat backdrop for the bar, which is dressed up with a metal giraffe art panel. Along the back wall a large Japanese maple becomes a focal point flanked with wood benches and large giraffe-print mosaics made from bottle caps.
S3 E4 • Stunning Spanish Courtyard
Adding their own prerequisite zing to iconic Spanish-styled architecture, the Yardcore crew goes to town to bring two sisters an amazing courtyard custom made for outdoor living. An oversized wall of water drops into a pool surrounded by a seating wall to accommodate larger crowds. A huge concrete pad scored into checkerboard squares houses the beefy 10-foot table and benches embellished with woven leather. The fun continues into the evening thanks to a fire bowl made from interlaced steel strips set atop a stucco pedestal.
S3 E5 • Shabby Chic Outdoor Living Space
Jake and Joel Moss turn a boring backyard into an outdoor living room that reflects the homeowners' love for shabby chic style. A raised deck is topped with a large shade sail and vintage tin panel walls create an elegant backdrop. Off the deck a patchwork patio blends a mix of concrete, gravel and brick pavers inspired by the homeowners' quilting hobby. At the center of it all is a wrap-around grill island faced with a reclaimed cabinet door mosaic.
S3 E6 • Victorian Greek Chic
Everything about the inside of this small town Greek Revival/early Victorian era home screams a devout allegiance to the style of the period, and yet these homeowners turn their wide open yard over to two modern and unconventional landscape designers. The result is a breathtaking renovation that includes a gabled pergola with intricate Victorian embellishments, a dining table with custom touches borrowed from the home's unique entryway, a circular paver patio surrounding a reclaimed cauldron fountain, and an extra long standing bar skinned in ornate wooden tiles.
S3 E7 • Suburban Surf Paradise
Jake and Joel Moss create a suburban paradise for homeowners with an undying love for surfing and skateboarding. A composite deck holds a massive bar faced with reclaimed skateboards, puffer fish lighting and a palm frond covered rooftop. Colorful plants and bamboo fencing create a beachy feel around a bubbling cedar hot tub. To top it off, surfboards are integrated into the design as they're used to create custom chairs around a steel drum fire pit.
S3 E8 • A Taste of Tuscany
Five minutes inside this home give the Moss Brothers all the information they need to transform a huge empty expanse into a lovely slice of Tuscan inspired hillside. Jake and Joel easily identify the family of three young boys who love to fish and a mom and dad with a penchant for Italian design to draw inspiration for this dream backyard. The landscape includes a sun-baked flagstone pathway leading to an open pergola held up by beefy iron pillars. This destination is adorned with a huge country table, sturdy douglas fir chairs with metal fish skeleton backs, and a sheer descent water wall cascading into a re-purposed iron basin. Rounding out the serene scene are plantings of large olive trees, Italian cypress, and two large lawns.
S3 E9 • Rustic Asian Retreat
Jake and Joel use the homeowner's rustic Asian style to turn this uninspired backyard into a tranquil outdoor retreat. The focus of the yard is a massive metal elephant water feature popped by reclaimed fence-board walls that create a stunning sunray effect. Two natural stone seat walls are topped off with a custom grape stake trellis that represents the elephant's tusks. A flagstone walkway leads to a fire feature made of reclaimed tractor parts, as boulders and lush landscaping are placed perfectly to complete this yard.
S3 E10 • Japanese Zen Garden
In order to fill a forgotten backyard with peace and tranquility, Jake and Joel tap into the essence of the Far East for inspiration. In two days, they'll build a beautiful Asian inspired gathering place that blends traditional and modern design elements. It all starts with an intricately laid flagstone patio that creates the foundation for a kotatsu fire table and liquor shrine. Then, the existing storage shed gets transformed into a pagoda with a new roof ridge, curved eaves, shoji window, and a stunning gable. Landscape touches like a Zen sand garden, large boulders, and statuesque planters round out this mind blowing backyard.
S3 E11 • Surreal Outdoor Space
Jake and Joel blend abstract art with suburban surrealism in this unique backyard. The centerpiece of the design is a massive checkerboard concrete patio that blends seamlessly into a 12- foot wall of illusion. Black and white walkways disappear into stunning mural walls that overlook metal trees and funky landscaping. A Venus flytrap fire feature looks onto a coffin shaped dining table rounding out the perfect entertaining space for these un-conventional homeowners.
S3 E12 • Family Farmhouse Retreat
After 5 minutes inside this home turns up tons of flowery artwork, pastel fabrics and fluffy pillows, the Moss Brothers decide to build a backyard designed to help a newlywed husband find some balance, all while staying true to the vintage farmhouse style his wife established inside. This happily-ever-after makeover includes a sitting deck and pergola off the bedroom door, another spacious deck and pergola along the garage wall, an antique wagon wheel bench set against a reclaimed wood wall, garden vegetable planting beds, and a distinctive roaster-grill combo.

S3 E13 • Log Cabin Fever
Jake and Joel stay true to the homeowner's style and makeover a backyard that is inspired by classic log cabin style architecture. A 7-foot rock covered fireplace is topped off with a hand made copper hood. Custom saw blade sculptures sit on top of live edge walls that flank the fireplace. A reclaimed crane mat deck extends through the yard with round timber rails as support. Custom furniture, new sod, and mountain like landscaping round out the yard.
