The Dialogic Imagination: Four Essays

Résumé : This volume includes several of Bakhtin's essays on the novel: 'Epic and Novel', 'From the Prehistory of Novelistic Discourse', 'Forms of Time and of the Chronotope in the Novel' and 'Discourse in the Novel'. These essays discuss the stylistics and aesthetics of the novel and tackle some fundamental critical concepts defined by Bakhtin, such as the chronotope, dialogism, and heteroglossia.
