S1 E1 • Masai Mara: The Great Migration

A series of wildlife reports from Kenya's Masai Mara. Simon King and Jonathan Scott follow a cheetah and her cubs, a pride of lions and the elusive leopard. Half-Tail has a job on hand raising 6-7 month cub Shadow to adulthood having only raised one cub previously. Will Shadow make it to adulthood? The Marsh Pride of Lions are the lion stars with 4 adult males, 7 adult females and 17 cubs. Will the pride stay intact and raise all the cubs? Two families of cheetahs including Fundi and Kidogo the cheetahs and their cubs have more of a struggle on survival with leopards, lions and hyenas that can and will kill cheetahs cubs and adults. Will any cats survive?

Fundi the cheetah and her two cubs go missing and the search is on to find them. Two impressive new male lions have moved in on the territory of one of the prides.

After four weeks of filming, the cats are becoming more familiar and the team capture some wonderful footage of Half-Tail the leopard and her cub hunting and playing. The female cheetah, Kidogo, searches for food for her two young cubs, making sure she keeps clear of the neighboring lion pride.

Jonathan Scott gets his first view of Half-Tail's new leopard cubs, and watches some lions stalk a zebra. Meanwhile, Simon King watches Amber the cheetah and her brood trying to overpower a wildebeest calf.
