S14 E1 • Hors Circuit

Les élections municipales divisent le petit village de Great Pelfe. Deux camps s'affrontent avec âpreté : les électeurs favorables à un vaste projet d'urbanisme, et ceux qui estiment qu'un tel développement défigurerait définitivement l'environnement. Norman Swanscombe est l'un des candidats à la mairie. Fervent défenseur du projet, il doit faire face à des rumeurs qui l'accusent d'avoir acheté le soutien de la commission d'urbanisme. Face à lui, David Walsh annonce qu'il sera bientôt en mesure de le prouver. C'est alors que Maureen Stubbs est retrouvée morte. Or, il s'agissait d'une des plus virulentes opposantes au démarrage du chantier. En enquêtant sur ce crime, Barnaby se demande si Maureen ne possédait pas des preuves...

Barnaby and Jones are joined in their investigation by new pathologist Kate Wilding. The body left on the bloodstone is her first assignment, but Kate doesn’t shock easily.
