S3 E1 • Fix My R&B Family

Iyanla travels to Alpharetta, Georgia, to help Grammy-nominated R&B recording artist and reality TV star Syleena Johnson heal the strained relationship with both of her parents, particularly her mother, Brenda. Syleena's mother lives with her, which has only amplified their increasingly volatile relationship. They are at each other's throats about almost everything, and all of the nastiness is happening in front of Syleena's young sons. Through emotional heart-to-heart conversations, Iyanla works to get to the root of each woman's pain and to diffuse a situation that threatens to tear mother and daughter apart.

S3 E2 • Fix My Full House

In response to a letter requesting assistance, Iyanla travels to Maryland to help Alexis with her mother, Carrie, who has been lashing out with angry words and violent actions. Iyanla soon realizes that, below the surface, the bad situation is far more complex. Carrie's husband, Will, has invited 14 freeloading family houseguests into their home without her permission. After sending Carrie away for the day to diffuse the situation, Iyanla is shocked to hear the family refer to Carrie as a "witch," and is saddened upon learning that her anger and drinking started years prior upon losing her firstborn to crib death. Iyanla quickly ascertains that the whole family has problems, not just Carrie. Iyanla is overwhelmed by emotion upon hearing of Carrie's tragic loss and how her family has chosen to denigrate her rather than understanding the painful reasons behind her actions. For the first time, an emotional Iyanla is not sure if she can help.

Iyanla is in Miami working with Rosendo and Belinda, who say their marriage is falling apart because of Belinda's anger. Rosendo says their issues came to a head when the economy crashed and he lost his job in construction. During her time with the couple, Iyanla asked them to choose four pillars a marriage needs to survive.

Spiritual life coach Iyanla Vanzant travels to Atlanta to help Chamique Holdsclaw, an Olympic gold medalist and one of the biggest superstars in WNBA history. Now retired, Chamique is struggling with her inner demons, which have been at the source of some troubling behavior, including a November 2012 arrest for firing a gun at her ex-girlfriend's car and attacking it with a baseball bat. In an emotional episode, Iyanla works with Chamique to confront her past, her anger issues and her fear of abandonment before an incident like the one in 2012 occurs again.

S3 E5 • Fix My Suburban Life

Parents Traci and Andre ask spiritual life coach Iyanla Vanzant for her help in “fixing” their two adult children, who they feel are making horrible life choices. The parents blame themselves for their 24-year-old son Jovan’s “choice” to be gay and disapprove of their daughter Jazmin’s plan to marry her boyfriend (a man they’ve banned from their house at times). Both parents feel that the overwhelming stress and disappointment caused by their children's decisions are causing serious health issues. With the goal of healing the growing rift between the family, Iyanla works to demonstrate to the parents that they can indeed love and support their children, even when they do not agree with their decisions. She also helps the children understand how they should continue to make their own unique choices, even when their parents do not approve.

S3 E6 • Fix My Football Star Life

In an emotional episode, life coach Iyanla Vanzant travels to Alexander City, Alabama, the hometown of acclaimed and controversial NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens. Despite incredible talent and enormous success as a professional athlete, Terrell finds himself in a personal crisis that threatens his future. The goal of Iyanla's visit is to help Terrell confront issues from his past that continue to negatively affect him in the present, as well as to encourage him to take the necessary first steps to repair what is broken in his life, career and relationships. Through a series of emotional heart-to-heart sessions, Iyanla uncovers the pain from Terrell's childhood rarely seeing his mother and not knowing the identity of his father until he was 11 years old. She also has a frank discussion with him about his reputation for bad behavior on and off the football field, addressing the reasons why he might be having a difficult time finding a new team.

Iyanla travels to the Dallas area to support a couple in the midst of a serious marital crisis. O.J. and Janetria both admit that their frequent fights turn physical, but neither seems to think this is a real problem until Iyanla arrives and asks them to re-enact their latest fight. When their petty argument about the sink drain ends with O.J.'s hands around his wife's neck, Iyanla kicks him out of the house. In trying to understand why Janetria chooses to stay with a man who is prone to abusive conduct, Iyanla uncovers something in Janetria's past that may hold the answer. Later, Iyanla talks with O.J. about his actions, bringing him face-to-face with his mother and sister, who confront him about his angry behavior. By the end of the first day, O.J. and Janetria can both see that they've been locked in an abusive relationship for years. Whether they choose to stay together or go their separate ways, however, is ultimately up to them.

S3 E9 • Fix My Dysfunctional Sisterhood

Life coach Iyanla Vanzant travels to San Antonio to help two sisters, Barbara and Geneva one raised uptown by loving, affluent parents, the other raised downtown in the housing projects who are in total breakdown. Barbara, a 58-year-old businesswoman, wants to rebuild the relationship with the sister she says was sleeping with her boyfriend for years, eventually having two children with him. For Barbara, her sister's actions were unforgivable, but Iyanla understands there are always two sides to every story. Meeting at a rental home (neutral ground) outside of San Antonio, Iyanla brings the two sisters together with the hope of helping both women see each other from new and different perspectives. Later, Iyanla sits down with Geneva's daughter Antoinette (whose father was Barbara's boyfriend) and discovers that Antoinette is repeating the negative cycle of her mother, including getting pregnant at a young age.

S3 E11 • Fix My Secret Affair

Life coach Iyanla Vanzant travels to the suburbs of Detroit to help a husband and wife in breakdown. Felisha tells Iyanla that her husband's online affair has made her very angry and that she feels she may never be able to forgive him. However, Felisha's anger has also been used to cover up her well-kept secret her own affair from years past that could ultimately destroy her marriage. Felisha's husband, Don, reveals to Iyanla that his wife accused him of deliberately causing a car accident while they were arguing. The crash left her severely injured and him guilt-ridden. Iyanla realizes that both Felisha and Don have been living in their marriage with their backs to each other. She works to help them acknowledge each other's pain, and starts the couple on the path to forgiveness, which is essential to the survival of their relationship.

Life coach Iyanla Vanzant travels to Newark, New Jersey, to help two sons who are trying to heal from a lifetime of abandonment by their father. Isaam tells Iyanla that he has spent decades living in pain because of his distant relationship with his father. He and his brother Chon recall how their father was in and out of their lives, sometimes disappearing for years at a time. Despite trying to mend their relationship, he has continued to disappoint and lie to them. Just when they had given up on their father for good, they received a phone call from a brother they never knew they had. Now, their father, John, is ready to face the sons he abandoned and finally introduce them to the brother he kept a secret for years. Iyanla's challenge is to help all four men onto the path to forgiveness before their relationship is destroyed forever.
