S1 E1 • The Quest
Ren, a young lighthouse keeper, spies an old man foundering upon the rocks during a horrible storm and rescues him. The old man identifies himself as Primus, the former ruler of Octopon, and reveals that Ren is his son, a prince and heir to the throne. With his final breath the king says he's escaped the pirate lord Bloth and tells Ren to seek someone called Alomar. Ren's keeper, Jenna, presents him with his father's broken sword and tells him Alomar is in the Abbey of Galdobar. Before he can do anything, Ren is snatched by Niddler, a monkey-bird who carries him to Bloth's ship. Ren refuses to join with Bloth, so he is thrown into the Constrictus pit, but manages to escape with Niddler's help. At the Abbey, Ren meets Alomar and is surprised to discover he is a dragon rather than a man. Ren learns of the Thirteen Treasures of Rule, which when reunited will restore his homeland of Octopon, and receives a magical Compass for finding them. Unfortunately Bloth arrives, and Ren is una

S1 E2 • Dishonor
Aboard the Wraith, Ren awakes to the sight of Bloth's scout ships outside a porthole. Ioz and Tula are already topside, but can't stop arguing over the best way to elude Konk and his men. The scouts force the Wraith into a trap, then the Maelstrom makes its appearance. To avoid Bloth, Ren steers the ship into a cave, where the crew is captured by a race of pale warriors called the Atani. They are brought before King Obric, who doesn't believe their story until Ren shows him the First Treasure of Rule. At dinner Tula sneaks away to search through the library archives. The king gives Ren and crew some provisions, only to send his soldiers after them when he discovers Ioz and Tula have stolen from the palace. Ren makes them return the stolen items, but Tula secretly keeps one scroll she took from the library. Ren offers to bear their punishment, and King Obric is swayed by his nobility. Unfortunately Konk has slipped aboard the Wraith, and takes Obric hostage, demanding the Compa

S1 E3 • Break Up
Konk is tearing his ship apart and throwing the wreckage to slow down Ren and his crew, but he can't shake them. Finally he decides to lose them on the island of Pandawa. Niddler begs Ren not to go there, revealing that Pandawa is his home, where he was sold to Bloth as a slave. Meanwhile Tula has been studying a manifest from the Maelstrom (the scroll she kept from the Atani library) and finds the name ""Teron"" on it. In the Pandawa marketplace the slavers fend off a rebel attack by unveiling the captured monkey-bird Queen, who is dying of thirst. When Ren offers her a drink of water, he earns the respect of the monkey-birds and the wrath of the slave traders, but fortunately Ioz is there to pull him out of trouble. Niddler feels guilty for doing nothing while Ren risked his life, but Ren says it was his time to act, not Niddler's. Ioz and Tula track Konk to the home of Jargas, the leader of the slave trade. Jargas sends his soldiers after them, but the group escapes with the h

S1 E4 • Betrayal
Ren and Niddler are captured in the bowels of the Maelstrom and brought before Bloth. However, he and Mantus are distracted with Dagron rider training and don't recognize them covered in borca paste from the crash. After ordering Teron, a captive ecomancer, to bring him clear skies for sailing, Bloth throws Ren and Niddler into the ship's dungeon. There Ren sees an old woman in a fight with another prisoner and tries to help her. The woman, Avagon, recognizes Ren's broken sword and, after testing him, sees that he is Primus' son. Avagon tells Ren she was once Primus' trusted aide, helping him to gather the first seven Treasures of Rule. When their ships were attacked by Bloth, rather than let the Treasures fall into his hands, Primus sent his seven most trusted captains to hide them again. In retaliation, Bloth destroyed Octopon. Avagon helps Ren and Niddler escape into the sewers. Meanwhile, Ioz and Tula pursue Konk and the Lugg Brothers to Janda-Town. They catch up to him in

S1 E5 • Victory
From his cell, Teron tries to warn Bloth of his visions of the approaching Dark Water, but he is only interested in getting the Compass from Tula. Bloth throws Konk into the pit where Ren and Niddler are hiding. When the Constrictus attacks, Konk helps them fight it off and trap it, but Ren is stung in the process and quickly weakens from the poison. Konk escapes (to a crew angry over losing their bets to Mantus), and Niddler takes Ren back to Avagon for healing. Bloth orders Teron to calm the seas or forfeit the Andorus soil bed he needs to live. Ioz and Zoolie recover from the gassing, and Ioz vows revenge on Tula for her treachery. Ren has a fever dream in which his father speaks to him but transforms into Bloth, gloating that he will control the Dark Water if Ren fails. Ren recovers and learns of Avagon's planned uprising against Bloth. Tula meets with Bloth in his quarters and gives him the Compass in exchange for gold. S1 E6 • Andorus
The crew stops to clean and repair their ship, and gather bulbs for fresh spices. Tula is shocked when her hand begins tingling with magical energy, and a plant she is tending suddenly bursts into bloom. She begins acting differently, trading in her warrior attire for a more revealing outfit. Teron tells her she has the gift of an ecomancer. Though reluctant at first, when Bloth's pirates attack, Tula uses her newfound powers to fend off the Dagrons, and rides one to rescue Teron from Konk. Teron and Tula fly ahead to their homeland of Andorus, ravaged by the Dark Water. Tula is devastated, but Teron takes her to the Viva Tree and teaches her to use it to revive Andorus. Back on the Wraith, Ren sees the Compass acting up and realizes there's a Treasure of Rule here. Tula encounters an evil presence known as the Blight below Andorus' roots, banished there by Teron but revived by the Dark Water. Ren goes down a pit to get the Treasure, while Teron and Tula guide him through the

S1 E7 • A Drop of Darkness
Ren recovers the Fourth Treasure from the ocean floor. As Tula senses the approach of Dark Water, a shadow passes over the Wraith, someone in a balloon attempting to capture some of the evil liquid. Ren and Niddler work to save the pilot, an alchemist named Cray, who at first glance mistakes Ren for his father Primus. Bloth shows up, but Cray is able to help them evade him, using a potion to envelop the Maelstrom in a massive mist cloud. Back at her citadel, Cray offers the crew her hospitality and reveals that Primus was her suitor before he met Ren's mother. It soon becomes clear that Cray is still not over her failed relationship with Primus: That night she sneaks into Tula's room and puts her into a deep sleep, refusing to wake her until Ren brings her a sample of Dark Water. They do so, only to have the Wraith swallowed up by the Maelstrom. Ren pours some of the Dark Water into the hold, forcing Bloth to open the hatch to get rid of it, providing an escape. Cray uses a sin

S1 E8 • The Beast and the Bell
Docking at a marketplace for supplies, Ren and Niddler learn that not everyone believes in the quest when Ren is mocked by a pair of merchants. Aboard the Wraith, Tula sees a vision of a beast's face after sensing something strange in the air. The Compass acts up, drawing Ren to the sea where Primus arises and tells him to abandon his search for the Thirteen Treasures. Instead Ren is to seek the Bell of the First Sound, located on the island of Banjamaar, which will destroy the Dark Water with one ring. Tula advises against this, having sensed the evil presence earlier, but follows Ren under a ring of floating stones that encircles the island. The people of Banjamaar have large ears and wield staffs like tuning forks, producing magical energy through sound vibration. Their leader, Konjit, doesn't believe Ren is Primus' son, so Ren and crew are thrown into prison. Using Tula's magic to escape, they break into the temple to ring the Bell. Tula tries to warn Ren when she sees the

S1 E9 • Panacea
The Wraith sails through rapids in a narrow strait, en route to Miragon and the next Treasure. The Maelstrom is right behind as the heroes steer into a blast tunnel, too small for Bloth to follow. He moves the Maelstrom to cut off the wind, forcing Ren and crew to abandon their vessel to escape. Bloth searches the Wraith, finding no Treasures, and commandeers the ship to follow them to Miragon. Ren and crew locate the Fifth Treasure atop a spire on the outskirts, but a giant burrowing worm creature fends them off. Its attack draws the attention of a strange little man riding a razor-sharp metal hawk. He is Slaggon, a ""bio-transmuter"" who alters animals to create new and ""improved"" creatures. He tells them the giant worm, the Gallquin, can only be destroyed by feeding it the Loaq flower, a powerful healing plant to every other creature. Slaggon rents them Roulette, an animal guide in a fishbowl staff, to help them find the Loaq. Ren is able to sense Roulette's emotions through

As the crew tracks the Sixth Treasure through some rough seas, Niddler is sick of being ordered around. Ren tries to lose a pursuing Konk in some Stekka fog which threatens to break apart the Wraith. The Treasure is located atop a spire on an island inside the fog, so the crew takes the sail-glider in, but it gets broken on landing. Niddler breaks off to gorge himself at a grove of minga trees, where he encounters a group of flightless monkey-birds with tiny wings. The Mobo, as they call themselves, sneak up on Konk and the heroes and knock them out with a magic powder. S1 E11 • The Collection
At his Janda Town game house, Zoolie warns Ren against taking the Wraith through the Straits of Hedron with stories of ships disappearing. Ioz spots Scorian, a rival pirate who stole his treasure map once and now has the treasure. Ren breaks up a fight before it happens, but Garen, a sinister wizard, overhears the argument. Ioz bribes Niddler with a promise of Janda fruit to distract the guards on Scorian's ship so he can steal his treasure back. Scorian spots him and orders his crew to leave port, trapping Ioz aboard. Garen sends his flying servant Ratmore to the ship with an amulet, causing it to vanish in a cloud of mist and reappear miniaturized inside a bottle in Garen's castle. He demands their treasure, persuading them with a giant (to them) insect and the threat of his Mortarios, two hideous creatures of his own creation. Meanwhile Ren and Tula are following and have spotted Ratmore flying back toward the castle. Ren interrupts Garen, posing as an herb peddler as an exc

S1 E12 • The Little Leviathan
The Wraith is about to be overtaken by the Maelstrom, but interference by a pod of Leviathans allows them to escape. Ren and crew hide out in a cove, where they find a baby Leviathan caught in a patch of Dark Water and save it. Ioz, ever the cutthroat, wants to sell its skin for gold. Ren befriends Baby, as he names it, and wants to help it find its family. Baby quickly turns out to be nothing but trouble, first eating all of Niddler's minga melons, then the vines the crew has gathered to repair their sail, then it tries to swallow the glowing Compass. In their effort to get the Compass back, Ren and Ioz end up trapped with Baby, in a net Bloth's crew is using to fish for food. Bloth takes the Compass, imprisons Baby, and throws Ren and Ioz to the Constrictus. They break a hole in the wall to escape as Bloth sails for the next Treasure. The path to the Treasure is blocked by Dark Water, so Mantus rides Baby to get it (since its skin is impervious to the substance), while Ren sw

S1 E13 • The Darkdweller
The crew celebrates successfully gathering the seven Treasures that Primus hid, unaware that Bloth's ship is just around the reef. Ren has begun to sense that the Treasures' magic is a part of him. As the ship approaches, Konk sees a face in a nearby patch of Dark Water, the Darkdweller. Cornered by the Maelstrom, the heroes take to the hang glider to escape. A Dagron-borne Konk knocks Tula loose and she falls into the Dark Water and is consumed. (Niddler is too stuffed from the party to catch her in time.) When Bloth sees Ren crushed by the loss of Tula, the cruel pirate decides to keep them alive to watch him suffer, putting a four-armed pirate named Strand in charge of making them work. Ren stops caring about the quest completely, until he sees a vision of Tula in the water and becomes motivated to help Ioz and Niddler escape. Ioz is captured on the way to the Wraith, but provides enough of a distraction for Ren and Niddler to retrieve the Treasures and sail an empty coffin o
