S1 E1 • Le Diable du Rhin

1923, in a world where magic exists, the Empire is at war with the Entente Alliance. Fighting a losing battle in the Rhine military theater, the Empire dispatches available troops haphazardly to delay the advance of the enemy. Second Lieutenant Tanya Degurechaff leads her platoon of aerial mages in skirmishes along the front, but is then assigned the mission of rescuing allied mages from artillery bombardment. S1 E2 • Prologue

2013, Tokyo, Japan. An unnamed salaryman works with the utmost efficiency in order to achieve his dream of having an easy life without regard to the personal circumstances of others. His life suddenly comes to an abrupt end one rainy afternoon after work... Or it should have, but an angered being calling itself God intervenes moments before his death. The salaryman however rebukes God's existence, preferring to refer to the apparition before him as "Being X." As the consequence of this insolence, X reincarnates the salaryman for the last time, choosing a life of misery befitting the blasphemer. Reborn as Tanya, he will do anything to survive...

S1 E3 • Dieu le veut

Ten years have passed since Tanya's birth in this world. After her performance in battle, she is awarded the commendation of the Silver Wings and allowed to choose a less dangerous assignment. Unfortunately, the military technology development division is ruled by the mad scientist Schugel, meaning that this undertaking only has the appearances of being less perilous. Tanya quickly writes another transfer request, but X suddenly imposes his will...

S1 E4 • Vie estudiantine

After her retirement from the front line, Tanya is enrolled in the military university to further her career and secure a future away from danger. A chance encounter with General Zettour gives her the opportunity to create a strong impression on the military elite and possibly open a door to such a future. However, after listening to her, Zettour brings forward his own plan at the next strategy meeting...

S1 E5 • Mon premier peloton

Tanya is tasked with forming the rapid response mage battalion she suggested to General Zettour, but she keeps failing candidates due to her strict selection criteria. Zettour orders that the battalion be assembled even if safe training conditions are no longer the priority. Tanya rains down hellfire on her prospective subordinates in the hopes of discouraging them, but after a month the unexpected has come true. Her new unit, the 203rd Mage Battalion, is then assigned a mission of almost celebratory proportions.

S1 E6 • Le début de la folie

The 203rd is ordered to the north by strategic command to support the war against the Entente Alliance in Norden territory. Tanya suspects that other world powers or even powers not of this world are interfering in and watching the conflict with vested interests, since it should've been within the Empire's ability to end it with the troops already stationed there. The madness of a World War approaches, and Tanya's hope that it doesn't concern her more than it should might prove futile.

S1 E7 • Offensive dans les fjords

Tanya is brought in as advisor to the strategy meetings of the army's northern theater branch where, despite her lower rank, she strongly attempts to oppose military actions she considers dangerous. During a more private discussion with Generals Rudersdorf and Rerugen, she is questioned on hypothetical benefits of the plan she vetoed and accidentally stumbles on the actual strategy the officers kept secret. Thus, the 203rd is dispatched to execute this plan and enact a decisive blow against the Entente Alliance.

S1 E8 • L'épreuve du feu

The occupation of the Entente Alliance barely done and over with, Tanya and the 203rd are back on the Rhine front to the West. There, they are given the mission of quelling the rebellion in the former Republic city of Arene, which has been backed up by air dropped mages. Strategic Headquarters has a foolproof plan to deal with the city and the resistance, but Tanya's men do not realize who is the originator nor how far it will test their character.

S1 E9 • Préparatifs pour la progression

The war on the Rhine front is dragging on and after Arene's railway is destroyed, the Empire cannot afford a long term stalemate. Strategic Headquarters forms a multi-stage plan designed to lure the enemy forward and strike their leadership through the use of a highly unconventional method. Should the plan fail however, it would mean the end of the Empire. It's up to Tanya to succeed despite the ridiculously unfortunate and unfair circumstances she's been forced in, in the hope of one day getting revenge...

S1 E10 • The Path to Victory

The three strike teams selected from the 203rd have landed in Republic territory after a perilous flight aboard the prototype V1 rockets and move to decapitate the chain of command by destroying three targets potentially hiding the enemy strategic headquarters. As the opening act of the attack designed to end the war, Tanya fights to finally seize the life she dreams of.

S1 E11 • Resistance

On the way back from the deployment into Republic territory, Tanya and her men are ordered to take part in the continuing encirclement operation to eliminate the trapped soldiers. However, it is at this time that the Allied Kingdom decides to take direct action in the war while having alongside them Anson Sioux, a man who vowed to God that he would kill the Devil of the Rhine.
