This is by far the most underrated movie to ever grace American TV. It did not even appear in theaters! It's one of those films that has the most beauty in its simplicity. The actors and cinematography are so-so, but none of that matters. The story really tugs at your heart, and the end leaves you wanting to know more about the character's futures.
Naomi (Zaoui) is a Jewish girl from France who watched the Nazis murder her father, during WWII. After she is taken to live with family in New York. She is severely catatonic and can no longer make normal human connections. Alan (Haas), the boy downstairs is forced by his parents to form a relationship with Naomi, which he is very reluctant to do. It's the age where boys just want to be with their friends and would face social repercussions to befriend a girl. In time he warms up to the idea as he starts to make progress with Naomi...
Ahh, I can say no more! Find this movie. Watch it.
