Vu sur la arte.
An emancipation tale (build on an interesting mother/son relationship) and a rural social drama (the wind turbine / agricultural lands stuff) that never feel like they're sharing more than the same geographical location.
Both are pretty mediocre and none really makes the final suicide feel like
you've been directed down that road. The characters stay relatively unknown until the end (one has little sense of what the hero is for example), wich makes the main appeal of the film (the turbulent mother/son bond) rather poor. All this packaged in TV movie qualities.
Score: 4/10
Enjoyment: 3/5
Maybe this is due to being both a long treatment of a short film and a loose adaptation of a novel.
