VF vue sur ARTE, hommage à Gina Lollobrigida.
A story of poor girl going rich fastforwarded to focus on her love life more than anything else.
The best moment is the middlepoint sword duel beyond wich there's little good to expect, and the qualities of the film lie in its pretty pastel colours and numerous costumes and a few more or less unlucky songs by the heroin interpreted by Lollobrigida whose energy completes a nice package.
On the other hand, Gassman is an insipid charming prince (and the french dub makes it even worse), wich kind of weakens the already weak love story. Picture-wise, weird switches in colours and sharpness occur randomly, a sad thing for such an otherwise good looking movie.
