Vu sur mk2 Curiosity, best-of estival, "Prendre le large".

Was this somehow about the West's fascination for the East, and its corruption of it? Or did it have something to tell about origins?
Probably not. No idea what the director was attempting here. Even knowing that the film was inspired by the photograph Antoine d'Agata doesn't help aside from understanding where supericial elements are coming from, Arbid clearly trying to imprint a meaning on this vague canvas.

Still, Melvil Poupaud makes interesting choices of career, and it was nice to see Alexander Siddig (seen as the psy in a Star Trek series and in Primeval's final series, as the cartoony greedy and overconfident scientist/industrial).
