Vu (et revu) sur mk2 Curiosity, spécial Cannes.
Prix Un Certain Regard, Cannes 2009
A comedic close observation of an hypothetical typical (but enclosed) family, showing the dangers of sheltered life (no matter wich age are the children, it's never a good thing) colliding with hormones and the outside influence? Or... something else?
That the disruptive element (narrative trigger?) is presented as early as it is yet comes into play so late in the film made it feel rather long.
Stylistically, it's more or less the same than what I've already seen from Lanthimos. The same could be said about the global form.
Score: ?/10
Enjoyment: 3/5
Maybe it's like the "Sacred Deer"? (Communism?)
I've been taught since I'm a child that sexuality comes from "within" but in this film's world, it seems to come from the outside, the characters discovering it only after someone else's impulse.
(A film that yet adheres to the concept of innate sexual needs.)
