Revu sur ARTE, "Summer of Voices".
Theoretically great.
A nice occasion for Nathalie Richard (one of Akerman's singing hairdressers) to dance.
Nice locations (ex: a parisian parc for example).
Relatively seamless interwoving of the various stories and scenes.
But aside from those positives, it's as flat as a Rohmer of the 80s/90s without their sense of framing and insight on people, featuring equally charming (Dennicourt) and poor (the two men) performances, and full of fat: there is really no reason for it to last almost three hours, except for Rivette's "signature", and out of the three separated characters, the third one feels like a fifth wheel.
Worse, the film, as pleasant as it can be, is nothing more than theory/concept applications with little care for telling a story (the "intrigues" unfolding randomly).
Score: 5/10 (+2)
Enjoyment: 3/5
Includes an Anna Karina appearance, reminiscent of Une femme est une femme.
