31 Octobre 2018, Plans Cultes "L'épouvantable soirée".
Watched at the cinema, too close to people apparently consuming any horror/slasher film like Scream is meant to be consumed. Rather disappointing for a Carpenter film (and terribly annoying).
Bonus: they stayed the whole evening and watched Suspiria in the exact same way...
A barebone film so terribly effective in everything it sets to do you can only admire it. The opening is still incredible to this day. The music, camera tracking and view point constantly support the film's slow build up.
The killing and confrontation between the heroine and the killer, leave a lot to be desired in comparison, but there's so much you can do with that kind of stuff.
Score: 7/10
Plaisir: 5/5 (+1 du fait de le voir en salle)
TV cut:
The additional ten minutes (mainly an interview between Loomis and other doctors and other occasions for him to brag about Evil/Michael) are perfectly useless.
The other (tiny) bits are also redundant stalking scenes (with a touch of "characterization").
