Children of Men invites us to share the journey of Théo, a man worn out by life, living in a dystopian world where women lost the ability to bear children.
But as Dr. Ian Malcolm would say "Life finds a way" and as hope for all is reignited, Theo rediscovers purpose for himself.

To begin with, the cinematography is brilliant, the multiples long takes ground the viewer into the universe, it oozes realism. We recognize ourselves now more than ever in the hurdles of this society, immigration, terrorism, low birth rate, yet our reflection isn't pretty to look at. The photography gives a bleak look to the entire picture that fits the atmosphere of the universe and our apathetic hero.

Then, it's a movie that grants itself the right not to answer everything. At the beginning, we don't have too much explained to us, the audience is left to figure out the puzzle. And at the end, we don't know how most of the characters ended. That's what I liked the most about this movie, exposition is kept to a strict minimum.

For those of you who didn't see it already, definitely check out Children of Men it is definitely one of the best of 2006 which was packed with good movies and as far as I'm concerned, it's Cuàron's best
