Vu en salle, ressortie pour ses Oscars (peu mérités).
A "cute" family movie dressing its banalities with a gown of apparent zaniness for people with reduced attention, trying to surprise you from moment to moment or picture to picture instead of building anything, and peppered with mediocre jokes (some making you smile only because of their slight lewdness) and relatively fun martial art scenes (that only made me regret not being shown a Sammo hung movie instead). The hommages are all reminiscent of the "YouTube generation" 's love for stacking anecdotal pop culture references in a meaningless fashion.
The (US?) family morals take way too much space once the film starts worrying about its morals not being obvious enough but it's the only thing that gives a semblance of coherence to a mess with little cohesion.
Finally... it's way too LONG given its lack of building.
Congratulations for the actors who prevent some scenes from looking stupid.
