My first Rohmer (thanks to a foreign channel).
No matter how shallow those young people and artificial the surroundings are, I can't stop watching it despite hating most events/character behaviours happening on screen and despizing love stories, it's mesmerizing.
The locations take a large part in the film's appeal.
Score: 7/10
Plaisir: [- ∞, + ∞ ]
A friend I had introduced to Rohmer when "discussing" this film:
"Can't you just let this poor girl have a life?? She doesn't do anything wrong.
- But it's so horrible to watch her thinking and doing the things she thinks and does !"
(Still wondering why I love this film.)
April 15, 2021: that might be a reason.
edit: after two and a half watches in the same day, maybe watching Blanche act and think just feels too close to me to be comfortable and she's simply rubbing me the wrong way just like the worst part of me does.

Rewatching it after long walks through those locations (Cergy's downtown, the Clock station, the charming leisure island of Cergy-Pontoise, the whole (fabulous and fabulously useless) "art work" by Dani Karavan that is the Axe majeur) makes it more pleasant than it already is.
Rohmer has a knack for choosing his films locations (and framing them) !
Another nice thing is seeing the locals and Parisian walking through the scenes (and often staring at the camera).
Anne-Laure Meury, the little known actress who looked like pure fantasy made reality in La femme de l'aviateur, seems "extraordinarily ordinary" here. I'm amazed. (The first time I saw this older Rohmer, I didn't even recognized her, hearing her today as Adrienne gave me a hint.)
