A very fun thriller series of weekly one-upmanships and turnabouts seeing excessive natural and trained geniuses battling each other in a cat & mouse game. Of course, the appeal relies also a lot on their opposite yet similar persons.
Done with style, but an exhaustingly bombastic one (the director's mark*) leading to some overtly ridiculous moments («I take a chip... and I eat it!»), one might wonder if it suits this kind of detective story.
An easy 8 for the first parts until the protagonist ascends to its highest position, an easy 5 for everything after that (though the TV adaptation got the neat idea to shorten it) because it feels like stretching hard on the initial life expectancy of the story.
Score: 8/10
Enjoyment: 2/5
This directing style is definitely not for me but the anime surfs on such a good original work that it's hard to fail.
*: see his original works Guilty Crown, Kôtetsujô no Kabaneri, and his adaptation of Shingeki no Kyôjin.

Un 8 pour les premières parties, jusqu'à l'ascension finale du héros, un 5 pour tout ce qui suit.
