"As I sat sadly by her side", she cried
And I took her cold hand in mine;
She said "no more shall we part", I lied
Giving her my shiny bright smile;
I stayed near her while she died,
I sang a "Hallelujah" on her shrine;
I wish I had forgotten my pride
To write this "love letter", my divine;
"Fifteen feet of pure white snow", buried,
You are now gone for a little while;
You said "God is in the house", so I prayed
For you to give me one more sign;
"Oh my Lord", be the One to guide
My late love to find me on this isle;
"Sweetheart come" to me, we’re tied
And I’ve got to join you in the pine;
I failed to be the savior, I tried,
"The sorrowful wife" all along in fine;
"We came along this road", allied,
But life caught us in its blind mine;
I left you all alone and you flied,
"The gates to the Garden" are thine;
I live with blames I cannot hide,
"Darker with the day" is my exile;
I must now face what I've denied,
"Grief came riding" and I decline;
I have yet to go along and to abide,
"Bless her ever loving heart", Oh Divine!
