Vu en salle.
Less star power than the previous Poirot by Branagh,
Less ridiculous acting from him but as much fun (still room for improvement) paired with an attempt to make the character more interesting*,
Less good looking with its pompous ugly CGI (birds, exteriors, sky and water, monuments, landscape views in windows... Egypt has rarely looked so bad!),
And a non-actress, as a character vain enough.
But it's still a fine Agatha Christie intrigue (that you could experience in better forms), lessened by the choice to make the criminals' act stand out so comically as if the audience was too dumb to tell them apart early on, and to stretch the set up more than necessary.
*That useless B&W prologue, moustache "origin story", was laughable. In several ways: visuals, accent, sciences, etc.
Score: 5/10
Enjoyment: 3/5
The next Branagh can't come soon enough !
